The Power Of Surrender
I read Creativity in Business by Michael Ray and Rochelle Myers back in 1986. It was the first time I realized that creativity and business even belonged together!
Here’s one idea from the book. When approaching a particular business or professional problem, take the approach of acknowledging that you don’t know how it’s going to turn out. “Instead of worrying over the many possibilities in any situation, just let go. You really surrender when you drop attachment to a particular outcome…One student said: ‘My approach has always been to hammer away at a problem until I find a solution, or failing that, I usually give up. This brute-force approach does produce results but at a cost of great stress and unhappiness... With surrendering I felt much more at peace with myself, and I actually attacked the problems with greater confidence.' ”
What problem can you surrender today? Success may be the result.
